Nada Jawa
Biography
Nada Jawa is a contemporary artist and object designer whose practice engages with themes of identity, concealment, and ornament. Drawing from the formal qualities of Arabic script, she has developed a distinctive visual language in which letterforms are abstracted into layered, rhythmic compositions, which she describes as “puzzling”, where fragments of text are embedded within complex patterned surfaces.
Her work spans painting and collectable objects, including furniture, situating itself at the intersection of fine art and design. Through a precise engagement with surface, repetition, and material, she examines the relationship between visibility and obscurity, and the shifting boundaries between body and object.
Her works are held in private collections internationally. She is represented by the gallery and is the first and sole Saudi artist to join Arton Contemporary.
